In this latest brief, we were instructed to gather a complete knowledge about one single thing and make that into a book or a magazine in the final outcome. We are advised to either use back from our previous project (13 THINGS). To start off the project we are needed to look into relevant projects such as magazines, publication or any inspiration to start the flow.
1. THE VIGNELLI CANON
by Massimo Vignelli, 2009.

This book talks about Massimo Vignelli's understanding a good design in this book. Where it includes publication, typography. The reason he made this book is to educate the newer designer to have a guideline to do publication. In the content of the book there is separated into two sections. The first section(PART 1 TANGIBLE) explains about how the process in creating a book, what were the methodology, the context of everything you apply in the book, and the simplicity of the design. Moving forward, the second half of the section(PART 2 TANGIBLES) describes more about having sketches for layout, how composition plays a big part in the process of making of a magazine. Choosing the right font, materials, design perspective until the outcome of the product.
However he looks back to all moments when he learned about typography from different practioners. He made his remark toward this article that he hacked some basic typography princles.
RESEARCH REVIEW
This projects does give me a lot of insights about the process of making a book or publication. Where it will help me start up the basic platform of making a book. I like how the designer showed a step by step guide in the whole book, and the content he gave is easy to understand but not all of the words are understandable. Overall this project has a very strong research point to guide newer designers who are gonna start publication.
2. Cadbury-and-age-uk-are-working-together-to-tackle-loneliness

The charity director has mentioned that " Loneliness can affect your health, your well being and the way you see yourself ". The elderly does show signs of health going bad just because of loneliness.
RESEARCH REVIEW
This research shows that product they made is being executed responsibly towards the senior citizen, which might have given me an inspiration for a new direction to execute my work.
3. The collected knitwork of Loes Veenstra
by Christien Meindertsma 2012

This project talks about a women who is named Loes Veenstra had lived in Charlois her whole live who had been discovered by Museum Rotterdam and Wandschappen's 2012 project. Loes had made 550 sweaters throughout her life in Charlois and none was ever worn. Meinderstsma had been tasked to make a new object from sweaters. But after that the project itself was changed to creating a special moment for Loes herself. With a small parade including a local bands with dancers.
RESEARCH REVIEW
This project brought inspiration to me where Meinderstsma had used someone's hardwork and turn into a special moment and plus making a book with all her sweaters were catalogued as well.
