PAULA SCHER
The task:
Following the study of the designer Paula Scher, you are to examine closely The Public Theater identity.
I guess in my review for this. This project is for the NY city leading institutions for the new theatrical productions. So the identity is more to performing in the way of graphic art to relate to the audience by merging design to make a contrast to make it look interesting. As each years passes by, the design will change due to the current audience value. By few years it will design fit the design based on the trend that is happening during those time. The market in theater was in a competition state so the designers must be always changing the design often to keep it fresh.
I do like each year there is a different genre. Like in 1995 about the 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk' It was the year of the pop funk hip-hop style feeling, even I wasn't given birth yet but I am a child of the 90's. So for me its very cool to have it following the style and genre of the following years. Overall, even to me the design it fits back to their respective view during those years it was created. My overall favorite poster was the one i mentioned above. Da noise, Bring in Da Funk
