On this week, we had a workshop in BLOCK Z, to learn about plaster of paris mold and carving. I have never done any carving nor heard plaster of paris before.

STAGE 1 - SETTING THE PLASTER

So Ms Sue Jane demonstrated the way to combine the powder and water.

The process shows which is 1 part of water = 2 part plaster. Following on pour the plaster until the powder itself grows to the top like a mountain looking shape. After that, stir it consistently while poking the air bubbles. The consistency is more like a pancake batter looking. The plaster will set around 30 minutes max +-. After harden, the mold itself will feel very warm on the inside and on the outside as well.

The images below show shows my process of doing the plaster.

Whilst we were waiting for the mold to set. Mr Kevin ask us to do the INTI survey thing on our email. But I've already done it the day before lmao.

STAGE 2 : CARVING

So for stage 2, we are tasked to carve our plaster by using our carving tools. But before we do anything. We are asked to listen to certain musics given by Mr Kevin and sketch them how according to you feel towards the music

Those links are:

So I've chosen a : 3rd link

Mysterious Fantasy Music | Magical Glade | Beautiful Enchanting Music

This are the sketches I've come up with during listening the music.

OUTCOME

I did accidentally cut myself in the process but it was just a small cut. But nonetheless, its our first time doing it. And I could have done better. Just with the place and time.
