6 Layers of emotions
Description
One of the first independent project started during the final years of my graphic design studies which my research studies about facial expressions and which muscle is being contracted upon feeling an emotion.
The idea of the project

To understand the muscle contraction within each emotions

The color of the illustration define by emotion of colors
The why
The purpose of this project is to understand how
facial expression works. With dierent expression
given we are not able to see which muscle is
being contracted with one and another. This
project is to help to educate people about facial
expression.
But robots are not supposed to have feelings?
Inspired by
Michael Murphy is a sculptist based on Brooklyn,
New York. His works are called conceptual art. His
style of installation media has what gave me an
inspiration of this project
He is kinda a special kind of artist. Wish I could analyze his brain

His way of doing this is really mesmerizing
What are the steps?
The first step is to understand the facial structure. And which emotions is reflected to which muscle to find specific facial expression to identify which facial muscle
But I am not programmed to do so
The hardest part of the process if to study science

The experimenting of the

finalize the design outcome
DESIGN PROCESS
During the design process of making the facial expression.
There are dierent versions to put in as a final
outcome. So I had to combine 2 versions to create the
final outcome. Understanding that dierent people got
dierent facial structures, nonetheless the facial muscle
is still the same for all people
